Because that’s how I roll…

I’m doing a contest anyway. Because it would make me happier to give the money away than to keep it for myself! And, at great risk of being called a copycat and a hack, I’m doing a “name that photo” contest like the Pioneer Woman. Of course, the photo I’ve chosen is nothing like the […]

Back in the Game

carri - November 30, 2007 - 3:33 pm

This photo had me cracking up so that Chloe came running. When I showed her the photo she said “boodylicious!” She had me cracking up all over again!

whimsigal - November 30, 2007 - 3:41 pm

hee hee!!! I don’t see how Ree keeps from commenting while this is going on….

piscesgrrl - November 30, 2007 - 9:03 pm

Woohoo, a contest!!

Here goes…

Junk in the Trunk

Stephanie - November 30, 2007 - 10:23 pm

Oh My Stars!!!…
Is that ME?!?
Oh, wait.
While I may have in one moment or another worn a short beige something-or-other with thigh-high black stockings, and even possibly gone shirtless…
I would never Be Caught Dead with the tag hanging out…
how tacky.

Steph S – who is not trying to be funny, only Truthful….

Sheri - December 1, 2007 - 8:11 pm

I just snorted a little Evie. My goodness your killing me over here. The first thing that came to mind was “Wedge-a-licious”. Much like Fergi-licious but um, not. ;)

whimsigal - December 1, 2007 - 10:32 pm

How am I going to choose?? All of you have had me laughing maniacally with your comments and captions!

You guys are FUNNY!!

“The End of an Era…When Pilates Failed”

Alison - December 2, 2007 - 2:52 am

You decided on a contest….how fun…
I love the picture!! I laughed out loud and hot mulled apple cider squirted out of my nose…so I have cleaned myself up and studied the picture and this is what I came up with…

“Getting Your Panties in a Bunch”
or how about
“Real Men, Real Wedgies”

Have fun choosing!! Great idea…

Rinnyboo - December 2, 2007 - 1:02 pm

Okay here’s mine:

I’m starting with the man on the field,
I’m asking him to fix his shorts,
And no message could have been any clearer,
If you want to make the world a better place, put on a shirt and fix your shorts….

(sung to “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson)

It’s silly I know but it came to me right before I fell asleep last night!

Have fun judging :)

I Want to Share the Love

So I’m getting ready to make my first $25 from the ads on the left side of the page there and, in the spirit of one of my blog mentors (she doesn’t know me from mud) Pioneer Woman, I feel like I should give that back to the folks who made the $25 possible. You, […]

Ooh! How about to the first person who comments! LOL.

Take your $25 and go get a pedicure, Evie. Have some you time!

whimsigal - November 28, 2007 - 3:48 pm

Jessica! How’s NaNoWriMo going? I wrote on November 1 and then never picked it up again. LOL I have issues.

Thanks for your suggestion, though I think pedicurists in NC might hunt you down if I were to take you up on it. Your first suggestion was pretty good, too! :)

VanderbiltWife - November 28, 2007 - 4:24 pm

I wrote about 8,000 words on my first project, got tired of it, and then wrote 6,000 on another one I am still working on. But I have been so busy I haven’t been able to write like I want to. Here’s to lazy winter weekends of writing!

Reward yourself!

kalurah - November 28, 2007 - 4:34 pm

I think since Pioneer Woman was mentioned, you should have a little name that photo type contest!
I think a gift cert. would be a good idea, as well.
I think it’s very endearing and says ALOT about you, that you want to give back to your readers.
you sweetie, you!

Rinnyboo - November 28, 2007 - 7:42 pm

I like the ‘name this photo’ idea. You have many lovely pictures to choose from, I am sure.

The gift certificate idea is good. Maybe for something like Amazon where people can get a variety of stuff.

You are so generous to offer to give away your $25!

Mama Podkayne - November 28, 2007 - 8:05 pm

I love contests! But I agree that you should treat yourself.

Alison - November 28, 2007 - 8:28 pm

I think you should treat yourself to something special that you wouldn’t ordinarily do for yourself….but if you insist on giving it away, a gift cert. is always good, and easy to mail. But I still think you should treat yourself!!!

whimsigal - November 28, 2007 - 9:15 pm

I don’t think I could possibly treat myself!

I will do this…I will take a tally and by Friday will let the majority rule. How’s that sound?

kalurah - November 29, 2007 - 8:33 am

ooooh. shall I tilt the scales here, by saying I think you should treat yourself, instead?!?!?!?
(tee, hee.)

Stephanie - November 30, 2007 - 12:01 am

I love the new banner!

As to the contest – I got nothin’.

whimsigal - November 30, 2007 - 2:34 am

kalurah, I’m going to buck the rules I set up and give away the money anyway!

THanks! It took FOREVER to get it right.

Tune in tomorrow for the contest…

KMDuff - November 30, 2007 - 7:27 am

Beautiful new heading banner. :)

I don’t have any great ideas.

The name that photo contest is cute. :)

We have been working on spending more time together. It’s so easy to send the kids off into the playroom and demand that they entertain themselves but we’ve decided we don’t want to be “those” parents anymore. We know that they can play by themselves sometimes but it’s unfair to them to expect that they […]

So cool. Yes. Life is Good. Sometimes I feel like unschoolers are hoarding a big, beautiful secret!

whimsigal - November 28, 2007 - 12:16 am

I think I’d have to agree with you. Although most people would think we were crazy once we tried to share it with them!

Sheri - November 28, 2007 - 1:51 am

I think the joy itself comes from knowing and loving our children for who they really are. I’m so happy that you guys had such a wonderful day. :)

whimsigal - November 28, 2007 - 1:59 am

Thanks, Sheri!

Rinnyboo - November 28, 2007 - 7:40 pm

Awww..I am so glad to hear you have had a wonderful bunch of days with your family.

I like our little unschooling secret. Like you said, few people would probably believe us if we told them how wonderful it is.

I love the picture of Iain. He is obviously having a ball with you. I have totally been on a video game kick lately. I just finshed Jade Empire on my XBOX today. I have never been able to play with a Wii before. Maybe Iain will let me try next week?

KMDuff - November 30, 2007 - 4:21 am

Awesome post. Isn’t it wonderful how much fun life can be? I loved this post!

Magnetiz are a fun toy. :) I like them lots too. :)
