My Craft Room – The Before

Do you have a space in your home that is devoted to something just for you?  It doesn’t need to be a whole room, just a space that can be where you are free to be creative, do some work, do some reading, something that is all yours.  Well, recently, I worked on creating a space […]

My Craft Room – After » A Whimsical Life - February 3, 2015 - 5:23 pm

[…] my gosh, y’all.  I am so excited to share my after pics with you.  To see the before pictures of my craft room/office click HERE.  Otherwise, here is my room after doing a bunch of organizing and […]

I ain’t Martha but I ain’t half bad neither

Please, excuse the poor grammar in the title but I just couldn’t resist! This was a busy weekend. We had the science fair, baseball, and then we had this… Well, not really that bad. Since the boys got their own rooms, we were actually able to cut down on a lot of this clutter thankfully. […]

Spring cleaning must be in the air! I’ve been on a mission to re-organize, put things in see through plastic boxes, and declutter. Usually this drive passes after a day, but it’s been a week and I’m still going strong! It’s almost like nesting, but without a baby at the end. :)

I think your home looks GREAT!!!

Great job! We swapped a couple of rooms over a few months ago and it’s worked out really well. You’ve got me thinking about that big table though – I can see that would be very useful in our “school room”.. Hmm, thinking!

whimsigal - April 23, 2008 - 12:30 am

Secret agent! I think you’re right. Spring is bringing out all kinds of things! LOL I love what you said about it being like nesting because that is SO true. I’ve been like a woman possessed and I don’t see an end in site yet!

Kez,
I think we all need to move things around once in a while don’t you? Oh and about the big table? I love it. Best $25 I have spent. It’s great for all of us to sit around when we’re working on things and it’s a rough and tumble piece, unlike my kitchen table. I don’t have to worry about it getting paint, play doh, and the like on it.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!

I think that your home looks great!

I have been torn between giving my house a complete and thorough spring cleaning and wrapping up our school year. I keep thinking that there is only another month or so left.

Decisions, decisions.

Deeg - April 24, 2008 - 4:20 am

oh man…I hang my head in shame….In shame I tell you! I need to clean this house sooo bad…and I even bought tons of cleaning supplies! Maybe i wont run away this weekend for a change and actually stay home and clean and get things in order lol. Maybe having a clean home will make me want to actually stay home rather then runaway! Now theres a concept!

Great job on the science fair btw! You guys did great! We still half of one done, but we will be finishing it soon for her school project…thats kinda cool actually haha We wont be waiting and stressing at the last minute

Hi, I am a dental hygienist in Oregon. I work for a dentist that has created Cari-Free. It’s a rinse, fluoride, tooth gel and gum that REALLY works to kill the bacteria that is causing your son’s cavities.

Cavities are caused by bacteria. They eat foods left on your teeth and excrete acid. If there are less bacteria, there is less acid to harm your teeth.
Makes sense, right?

Anyway–here’s the website:
http://www.carifree.com/

I am seeing amazing results. Also, consider a Sonicare (or at least a SpinBrush). Most people do a lot better job of brushing with these things. Personally, I use a Sonicare and a WaterPik for my family (we all hate to floss, so this works for us)

Hope this helps–feel free to e-mail me. I’ve loved your diet blog (so inspiring and ADORE the pics), so anything I can do to help out–I’d be thrilled.

Projects

We’ve all been working on things around here. I finally got off my duff and shredded paper for about three and a half hours on Wednesday. Oh yeah, it was the height of entertainment. In my zeal to get it all done (it was a massive pile of paper) I may have accidentally shredded some […]

Wow, girl! You are brave to post a picture of your kitchen in a non-perfect state. That is just about how my kitchen looks right now:) Wanna come over and do projects at my house?

I love that Mario is watching the screen with Iain. Very sweet.

Oh!!
I was like… “Why is she posting pictures of my messy kitchen?!??”

My project too, today, by the way.

See you in a few hours!!! :)

Yesterday on the spur of the moment, I cleaned up my kitchen. Actually I opened a cabinet in bright sunlight and was a little shocked at the dust. If I had it on a “to do” list, I probably would have procrastinated. I do better on a whim.
I like your green walls. My kitchen walls are green but they are a little brighter (think a hint of lime!) than I wanted. I was trying for olive.
My project is my daughter’s room. I promised her we would re-do it when she went to middle school. We’ve moved it up a year.

SHUGARMAN FAMILY - January 24, 2008 - 7:54 pm

Love the color of your kitchen. Almost the same shade of green as mine! We all have our projects, and ironically enough, mine is to tackle the papers on the computer desk! UGH…I keep saying I will put the mail away and file immediately upon receipt…but it never happens. Just like losing those last 5 pounds…never happens!
Happy day!

Marin,

I’d love to help you! But I didn’t even get to the kitchen project yet. The kids had me working on Super Hero shirts for them. Look for pics of those tomorrow.

Steph,

LOL!! You’re too funny. You mean you didn’t see me peeking through your window with my telephoto lens?!

Joan,

It sounds like your kitchen might be the same color as my dining room. I was going for a slightly different color and it’s been electric green for about a year and a half now. I wish my boys gave a crap what their room looked like. I think the most they’d let me do is paint Mario and Luigi on the wall. It sounds like fun re-doing your daughter’s room!

Aimee,

Papers are a real problem for me, too. I had three ginormous stacks to shed over the last couple of days. And the pounds? Ugh. Don’t even get me started on that topic! :)

Don’t feel bad. My son’s room is decorated all over with pictures cut out of Sport Illustrated taped onto his walls. Very classy.

MamaK - January 25, 2008 - 2:00 pm

you inspired me so much yesterday! In fact, you made my house sparkle! And you were in the first sentence of my post yesterday! Thanks for the butt kick!-K

Firefly Mom - February 10, 2008 - 9:18 am

A friend of mine had never seen my house in it’s “usual” state (I always did the flight-of-the-bumblebee fluff & stuff before she came). So one day to cheer her up I e-mailed her a photo of my kitchen (looking very much like yours ;)

She’s now using that photo as her computer wallpaper!
